Yamaha PSR1100 - How to Record to Floppy Disk

I have a PSR1100, it has a floppy disc drive, I am able to record my playing (just a simple song) onto a disc aren't i? but me and a friend simply cannot understand how you do it? we are both quite intelligent she is a teacher, but to us the manual is completely baffling? I would love a simple explanation as to what to do we spent 3 hours trying going over it time and time again! I may have to take sedatives! please help thanks and best e wishes Chris
