Hi!!!!...amazing page with amazing and useful info... just wish to tell you all that I just got my yamaha psr-1425 yesterday!!! Fabulous product....gr8 music...just love everything about it. ..its look....style...keys...functions....
the best part is I got it at just Rs 13896...(no goodies included).
But I am getting a deal offering music stand at Rs 780.... adaptor at Rs 910....and bag between Rs 600 -900...

but which metro city ? It differs with different cities,this is for anonymous and for Kaviraj u can't play this keyboard like banjo party or on street dance function. U can play this on stable stage program and the cost of this keyboard is appro.Rs. 17000 or 18000 in Mumbai.

I think you can purchase I425 of I423. No doubt, I425 is very good, but I423 is also very good. I have i423 and I am doing tution and also performing programmes. It has great depth. The dealer from where I have purchased this i423, has advised me to buy i423. Because its output is very good. So, why I will buy i425?

Hello...all.... I'm using a psr I425 and am extremly happy with it....! Hav searched the whole intrnet to know..how to recrd the perfrmnce data to a comp... Aftr an year of effrts.... I hav succesful..managed to transfer performance data to computer.. For this.. You can connect the audio out to the mic in port of comp and record your performance using voice recorder,... AND TO RECORD YOUR PERFORMANCE IN MIDI FORMAT ..FIRST ..DOWNLOAD THE MIDI DRIVER FOR YOUR OS FROM YAMAHA... Now uSE A MIDI RECORDING SOFTWARE... (anvil studio is a free one) TO RECORD YOUR PERFORMANCE IN MIDI.. Format.. Have searched a lot to gather this info... Hope tht tis wil b helpful for someone...... And PSR i 425 IS havin 16 rregstrtn memory.. 8 banks n 1 and 2 memorysss.... :-) and i dont thnk tht there s a freeze buttn n 425 like tht in 550 and models above... Bt for your rhythm nt to change wen yo swtch btwn regtn memoriss...jus.. Set the style for both the reg memory to b the same....tht worked for me....... :-)

It's not compatible to add the styles of Bhajan, Dadra, Keherva etc in to this Keyboard I425. Even I tried to do the same, but the rhytm is not coming properly as I wanted. The initial keyboard for these indian styles is PSR S550. Below this keyboards like I425, E423, E413, E313 etc won't have compatibility ... After that, these are the keyboards like S710 , S910 which will perfectly support the indian sytles.

Hi,

you didn't specify any budget ? For entry level keyboard players, you can choose CASIO or YAMAHA ! In CASIO, you can get a very low level budget keyboards. Whereas in YAMAHA, starting price will be around Rs. 7500 onwards ! CASIO has less sound quality where as YAMAHA has good sound clarity. Visit any showroom and see the difference in sound clarity, ease of use, Price, portability, dashboard, etc...

Can anyone tell me what benefits we can get by connecting the keyboard with a PC through USB port. I have installed the driver (OS windows7) and Musicsoft Downloader. Connected via USB cable. The computer recognizes the keyboard but nothing beyond that. one BUP type file is shown. Can anyone suggest how to proceed next if at all possible.

Hey jojo,

i guess recording will be done with Arranger workstations starting from PSR S550. Starting from this, the available keyboards are S710 & S910. you can record directly in S710 as .wav files whereas in S910, you can record in either .mp3 or .wav files. (Cost of S710 is Rs. 50,000 & S910 is Rs. 70,000 & S550B is Rs. 36,000). Whereas I425, the cost is Rs.17,000. Who will give all the options in this lower end version ?? Think @!@

Indian .sty files form higher models compatibility in this one is very bad. In higher versions, you have MAIN VARIATION [A]?[D] buttons, whereas in I425 you have only two MAIN A/B in same button. So in lower versions, it's not compatible to play .sty files

Hello

In I425, it doesn't have USB drive to insert a pen drive. But instead, it has a connectivity pin to connect to PC/laptop. So you need to have PC/laptop everytime you load the styles. By the way , you can load more no. of styles but can save ONLY ONE style file in keyboard. And that too it's not clear and proper. I did so much of R&D on this KB to play different table styles, but no luck. so i decided not to buy this KB , but instead i prefer to buy YAMAHA S710 / KORG M50 / Roland E09/Prelude. But for basic music you can go for many models like PSR E413, 423 425 or 323 223 etc...

i would like to suggest that if you want to buy a new keyboard so please increase your budget upto 50,000 and go for korg keybords instead of other brands which gives you professional quality sounds and great live performance. check for Korg m50 which is better option for other keyboards.

Yesterday i bought one cable which exactly suits the keyboard I425 and PC. The cable cost is Rs.60 . Actually I want to inject the style files into this Keyboard I425. With my research, i got to know that we can save only one user style file with the style no. 163. Note: Here we can't save multiple style files into Keyboard I425.

Actually I want to have more no. of style files. Some of them are as follows

DADRA.STY
JHAPTAAL.STY
KHERWA DOUBLE.STY
T E E N TAAL .STY

I was in dilemma whether to buy I425 or E423 !!

I425 :

1.Indian Styles & Voices added less in number. 2.Memory Size is 373 KB only. Can add only limited no. of external styles
3.Cost is Rs.17460.00
4.Styles and Voices are less
5. Color is Silver. Within short time, the color gets shaded.

E423 :

1.NO Indian Styles & Voices.
2.Memory Size is 1.8 MB. Can add more no. of external styles. 1800 KB/20 KB = 90 Styles can be added (assuming 20 KB per style [.sty])
3.Cost is Rs. 16,490.00
4.Styles and Voices are more.
5. Color is Black. No color problem !!!

But when i tried to see the earlier comments (see below), the rates are a bit different in different shops in Bangalore.

@Renolds Inc, (Brigade road) Bangalore for Rs. 17890. This includes Rs. 17460 + charges for adaptor. Bag and Stand came free.

@Yamaha music square (indira nagar may be) , Bangalore for 18020 ( Including Carry bag - Rs 550) , Adaptor and Stand came free.

@Aruna Musicals (Koramangala) Bangalore. @Rs. 17500 I got the keyboard with X stand, adapter and bag.


Please suggest a good showroom with a good deal.

Hello every1,i have yamaha psr i425 keyboard.I want to ask that if we have to play two parts in a song,one i.e. by strings(the leading part) and the second part, chord base+leading by grand piano simultaneously then is it possible that we record leading part(strings part) in the keyboard and play the base(piano) part..as its not possible for one to play both things together..

I bought Yamaha I425 yesterdayt only from Aruna Musicals Bangalore. @Rs. 17500 I got the keyboard with X stand, adapter and bag. Please let me know if this is a ood deal. I think in Bangalore Aruna Musical is quoting the lowest price as I have checked with Furtados and Soundglitz as well. Aruna Musical is situated in Koramangala 5th Block, Opposite to China Pearl Restaurant there is a lane, enter into that lane after two-three houses you will find this shop on the left hand side...

PSR i425 is superb, especially the Indian sounds like Sarod. Sitar 2 also has a velocity sensitive bend in. Further, you can also us it as a USB MIDI controller. It works great with most of the software. Just install the USB drivers and each time you turn it on, it just works 'plug n play'. If you have a good laptop (I'm using Dell studio 1558-4GB RAM, Core i5)you can use it for live playing without an external sound card. the latency is negligent and can be overcome by adjusted in the ASIO control panel. Well, it's very good!!!

I bought PSR-I425 @Renolds Inc, Bangalore for Rs. 17890. This includes Rs. 17460 + charges for adaptor. Bag and Stand came free.
Initially he was reluctant to give accessories, but since I had checked in couple of shops in Bangalore and they were ready to give accessories free, the deal was struck.
Don't buy in a hurry. Enquire in couple of shops and go for the best price.

I got to know that i425 current market cost is Rs.17,460 (enquired in Furtado's Pune), no offers in addition to that. I have to buy Adapter(Rs. 550), Bag(Rs. 500) and Stand(Rs.1400) saperately..Total cost would come up to 20k apprx...I just wanted to know, does this deal makes sense??
Although I regret as they were offering free bag and stand till 30th march, and I approched them on 1st April..I wish they must be fooling me and offer is still valid, then I would luv to be april fooled...LOL

Dear readers, I bought a Yamaha PSR i425 in 2008. Amongst all other keyboards i have found that i have made a very good choice. Its available in Raj musicals Delhi currently priced at Rs.16,500/- U can check it out on rajmusicals.com. I got it shipped to bangalore from Delhi at an extra cost of Rs.1000 but it was worth it because the same keyboard is priced much higher here in bangalore. The packing was excellent with plywood boards for protection and 2 cardboard boxes wrapped in bubble sheet. It is sent through airmail and delivery is on time. This gentleman is very helpful and can guide well.

a way to play tabla in background on a Yamaha is to use the inbuilt recording feature and then save it as a song. Step 2 - just play the song.

It works but am not sure if thats the right way to exploit the keyboard feature.

I am planning to buy psr i425 yamaha keyboard. but when i heard it had indian voices, i wonder will there be no other western or any other different voices. can i have the reply? If indian voices like tabala, mridangam , teen taal or any other one like this comes under the voices coloumn , it cannot be converted to the style coloumn. It can be played only as a voice, not as a style or a background beat to be played along with strings or any other like this instruments. Even if we split the keyboard into two instruments as tabala and strings, we can only play with tabala and strings with double hand but we cannot switch on the acmp mode to give a good music. Can i have the details and features about psr i425 along with the advantages of the indian instruments and what are those. will the price increase? can i have the reply soon?

I have also a plan to own PSR I425 soon. When I observed all of your comments I have got full confidence and finally I decided to go ahead.

Can anybody please confirm me an information about the registration bank memory.

I used to perform stage shows, as you know there we need to switch over to various tones on selecting single buttons. It is found that only two memory bank buttons (with 16 options).

Can we use the buttons 1, 2, 3 ..etc to choose different tones while live stage show?

I meant to say that suppose, we like to use three tones such as bansuri, sitar and strings.

If we are memorising these three tones in the memory bank number say 1, is it possible to change the tones from bansuri to sitar to strings as and when required in the stage show?

Other shops sell chinese ICs inside. I got it @ Rs.17000 /- flat with original high quality cover & original yamaha adapter (Rs. 400). You can get cheap local adapter at Rs. 150. for keyboard Stand i sheeled our extra 500. But this keyboard is having indian tones. and being yamaha is also best in its price tag. Casic is having a cheaper version M810 (Rs. 9200 with original Adapater and it has memory card and USB slot and indian tones also. but i would prefer you go in for Yamaha one only, because of its sound clarity and versatility. and if you look budger with all function go for casio M810. Its worth that price tag.

Hi friends,
When I play a style and then trying to change a voice using memory banks the style also changes unwantedly. There is no freeze buttons to stop this , I think. Can anyone suggest a way to change the voices without chaning the style using banks?

Sheeba, you cannot record directlyu to cd , you can use USB cable to transfer files from your PC to Keyboard and vice versa..

Hi everyone, I bought the PSR-I-425 a few months back for 21000/- and m quite satisfied with the performance. However, the sad news is that (and of course a good news for others)the price has suddenly dropped to 17350/-. Well, I didnt buy the power supply unit & instead use the 12v, 1Amp power supply that comes with my computer speakers without problem. If u need an amplifier, u can use a home stereo set ( with good amplifier & speakers)satisfactorily. Interconnect the two using a 'mini to RCA' cable which has a stereo jack at one end and RCA (AV cord)at other end and connect to aux input of stereo. Select the proper source( aux) at the stereo set. Thus u can get better sound without spending much. U will have the added advantage of recording on the stereo what u play on synth. Do inform me how u liked my suggestions.

Can someone please tell me between Yamaha PSR-I425 & Casio CTK-5000 which one is superior in terms of sound quality? As per the user manual comparisn, the number of tones, features and sound output power is more in CTK-5000 compared to PSR-I425. Also CTK 5000 has SD card slot. But unfortunately the sound quality can't be written in any manual. If someone has experienced both the keyboards' sound, please let me know which one has better sound quality. Based on the feedback I can decide which one to go for.

Hi,

This is a genuine keyboard from yamaha and I was surprised to hear its sound quality. I would say its the best what you can get in this budget. It is extremely good and cannot be compared to casio 810in which has pretty poor sound quality and finish too.
I'm very happy I bought this yamaha keyboard.
