Yamaha CS1x in MULTI position less output then the PERFORMANCE mode

Hi> Have an old CS1x of which all of a sudden the sound in MULTI is much lower then the PERFORMANCE mode. Having zero clue of electronics, perhaps somebody knows what the reason might be of this?
