Using Pure Piano iPad App With Yamaha Clavinova CVP809

I own a Yamaha Clavinova CVP809. I have come across an iPad app called Pure Piano. Would anyone know if this works with the CVP809 and if so, what do I need in order to connect my iPad to the keyboard. I am not “tech savvy” so I will appreciate any help given.

The Pure Piano app is designed to work with Yamaha digital pianos that have MIDI connectivity, and the Yamaha Clavinova CVP809 does have MIDI capabilities. Therefore, it is possible to use the Pure Piano app with your CVP809.

To connect your iPad to your CVP809, you will need a MIDI interface. Yamaha makes a MIDI interface called the i-UX1, which allows you to connect your iPad to the MIDI input and output ports on the back of your CVP809. Once you have the interface, you can connect your iPad to your CVP809 with a standard USB cable.

Once the connection is established, you can use the Pure Piano app to control your CVP809 and play sounds from your iPad. You may need to configure the settings in the app and on your CVP809 to ensure that they are communicating properly.

If you are not familiar with MIDI connectivity or setting up digital devices, it may be helpful to consult the user manuals for both the CVP809 and the Pure Piano app, or seek assistance from a professional technician or a knowledgeable friend.
