Random Buttons Cease to Function! Repair? PSS-170

All the keys work great. This is a classic keyboard, but some of the coolest buttons just stopped working randomly.. all at the same time: Tempo-Up, Demonstration Start/Stop (Billy Joel and his awesome song, "Don't Go Changing", Fill In, and Vibrato. This breaks my hear, because I love to use all of these buttons. I'm no electrician, but I'm not afraid to try. Is that the problem, and if it is, should I try to fix this?

Dear Austin: It appears you really liked the features of your "classic" PSS 170. If you weigh the intrinsic value you place in this Unit against the cost of repair by a professional, and that you are not an electrician (hardly sufficient to repair ELECTRONIC equipment), you will arrive at a smart decision. You must realize that there could be a slew of possible defects causing your problems. Somehow the Processor is not transmitting your commands. Deciding to send the Unit out for repair requires that the reputation of the professional is good, that you feel his charges and some kind of repair guarantee is acceptable. Good luck.
