MIDI Files - Yamaha CVP 701

I have a Yamaha CVP 701 and I also have old standard MIDI files which I would like to play through this keyboard. Each time I load in a file, the instrument reverts to the standard MIDI setting.

Each time I attempt to save the file after changing the sounds, it reverts to the standard MIDI sound instead. How can I re-save the file using sounds from this keyboard?
