FC3A with Yamaha CK88 and FL STUDIO

I am considering buying the FC3A pedal for my CK88 Yamaha keyboard. Here are my questions:

1. Will this pedal be usable in FL STUDIO?

2. I can see that it isn’t an on/off switch, but that you can control how much sustain is applied, by how much you press it down. Can I make it to control effects, instead of sustain?
