Avant- Grand - Different Sound thru MIDI

The sound output when playing our Avant Grand NX1 without any computer attached, or through the Yamaha Smart Piano app is perfectly fine. However, whenever any other computer program is running, the sound becomes somewhat echoey and tinny.

Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?
